Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO)

Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA)
Represents the country’s leading research-based pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, which are devoted to inventing medicines that allow patients to live longer, healthier, and more productive lives. The industry invested more than $30 billion in 2001 in discovering and developing new medicines.

Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R)
An organization focusing on the application of ethical precepts in both medicine and research. Through national conferences and published reports it addresses a broad range of issues in biomedical and behavioral research, clinical practice, ethics, and the law.

Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS)
A nonprofit educational/scientific organization (501c3) recognized for its educational programs, professional certification and global information services.

Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) An association developed to provide educational programs, certification, and a forum for research professionals to exchange information.

Society of Research Administrators (SRA)
A non profit association dedicated to the education and professional development of research administrators, as well as the enhancement of public understanding of the importance of research and its administration.
